Design Technology

“I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work" - Thomas Edison

At Loudwater School Design Technology is an inspiring and practical subject.  Using creativity and imagination, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values.  They will develop subject knowledge and make links to other subjects such as maths, science and computing.

Children will learn how to take risks, become resourceful and resilient, innovative and enterprising. They will develop the key skills and knowledge required to carry out their DT learning, such as cutting and joining materials, the safe preparation of food, and how mechanisms work.
