Become a School Governor

Become a School Governor at Loudwater School

School Governors make a positive contribution to children’s education by offering support and challenge to help raise standards and monitor that resources are used effectively.

Loudwater School is a primary school on the outskirts of High Wycombe.  We have a committed and dedicated staff team along with children who have an immense pride in their school.

School Governors work as a team and come from a wide variety of backgrounds to add value to school life by offering their skills, expertise and time.  They do not need to have any prior knowledge of schools.

Our Governing Board is committed to working with all school staff to raise educational standards. We are looking for dedicated individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of children and are willing to share their experience in an educational environment.

We are currently looking for new Governors and would be delighted to hear from anyone who has:

  •          an interest in improving the performance of the school.
  •          a desire to contribute to and represent the community.
  •          an open and enquiring mind
  •          the ability to look at issues objectively
  •          the confidence to ask questions and join in debate.
  •          a willingness to listen and make informed judgments
  •          the ability to work well with others
  •          time to spare

If you match the above description, you may be the very person to become a Governor at Loudwater School. Everyone has something to offer and we want people from as many backgrounds and with as wide a range of interests as possible.

As well as attending meetings governors are also asked to look at specific areas of the school’s work in more detail.  To help support governors, everyone has access to further training to help build on existing skills or to develop new ones.  Governors do not need any formal qualifications but must be aged 18 years and over.

If you have a passion for improving the life chances of children and can offer supportive challenge to the leadership of our school to help us to fulfil our vision, please get in touch with the Head teacher or Chair of Governors to find out more and have an informal chat.  You can visit the school website a at  http://www.loudwater.bucks.sch.uk/website

We look forward to hearing from you.
